How Does Hydrogen Plasma Heating Work?

The Lotus Hydrogen Plasma Combi Boiler works through an innovative process that separates water molecules into Hydrogen Plasma by burning the water inside the boiler. The Hydrogen Plasma, instantly combusted in a controlled environment, produces very fast and strong heat energy, with water vapor as the only byproduct. This reaction releases very high thermal energy (up to 2500 °C), which is used for heating.

This on-demand production and utilization of Hydrogen Plasma present many advantages.

Main Difference Compared to the Electrolysis Method: Very high efficiency! Electrolysis efficiency has not yet exceeded 70% in the world. But hydrogen plasma technology has almost 200% energy efficiency (Coefficient of Performance or COP of 2). Furthermore, in applications carried out in some countries such as Germany and Austria, COP values ​​of around 2.5 (250% energy efficiency) have been achieved when comparing the Lotus Hydrogen Plasma Combi Boilers used throughout the year, to natural gas-fired boilers.

Amount of Water Used to Produce Hydrogen Plasma: 1 - 2 liters per Year, depending on the Boiler's size (~ half a glass of water per month). Because the entire operation takes place in a closed environment, the water vapor produced after combustion remains inside the boiler and turns back into water.

No Hydrogen Storage Required: Unlike other systems, there is no need for large-scale hydrogen storage tanks, hydrogen-carrying capsules or hydrogen-carrying piping systems, reducing risks associated with hydrogen's flammability and simplifying installation.

No Carbon Emissions: With water as the input and water vapor as the output, the process is zero carbon emission, making it incomparable to traditional gas boilers and far superior to current hydrogen-mixed systems.

High Energy Efficiency: Direct conversion of water into Hydrogen Plasma and its immediate use means there is no energy loss, enhancing overall system efficiency which reaches to 200%.

Very Fast Heating: With the ability of hydrogen plasma to reach very high temperatures in minutes, the amount of electrical energy used for the process is greatly reduced, which provides serious economy. (The Lotus Hydrogen Plasma Combi Boiler can raise the water temperature in its boiler from 15 °C to 90 °C in just 10 minutes). The system, which reaches the desired temperature in a short time, shuts itself down and stops electricity consumption, and goes into standby mode until the water temperature in the boiler drops again. Thanks to these pauses, it only needs to work for 5 hours a day.
